nubar's Finest Silks Are a Hit with Scrangie

When Scrangie reviewed nubar's Finest Silks Collection, she was especially impressed with nubar's smooth formula. She said, "The formula on these was just perfect. Dreamy. Flawless, effortless application... Drying time is good and I experienced no problems with the texture, application or brushes. The formula was really, really great, I am impressed with it more than I am with the colors."

Of the collection as a whole she said, "The press release states that they were aiming for a collection of timeless colors for every skintone with the benefit of a two-coat coverage formula, and that's exactly what they've created."

Brooke at Getcha Nails Did was equally excited about the Sparkles Collection, and the exceptional photographs from these reviews show why there's so much enthusiasm.

nubar Hyacinth Sparkle
Scrangie says of Hyacinth Sparkle, "...it totally blew me away. It's not dull or sheer at all, it's sparkly and colorful! Pretty unique shade as well, vibrant purple glitters are *very* rare."

nubar Petunia Sparkle
The Nailphile's favorite is Petunia Sparkle.

nubar Star Sparkle
Brooke says Star Sparkles is, "Super duper gorgeous!! I love this polish with a passion."

nubar Sky Sparkle
Srangie says, "Sky Sparkle. Bright turquoise-ish blue. It's mostly blue but seems to have something a little extra..."

nubar Fire Sparkle
Brooke says of Fire Sparkle, "This is one of the nicest OPAQUE red glitter polishes I have used... Perfection!"

nubar Night Sparkle
Brooke's comment on Night Sparkles is: "Whoooohoooo baby is this one pretty! I kept thinking this is what Dorothy Who? should have looked like."

nubar Sky Sparkle
Scrangie says, "Violet Sparkle. Saved the best for last. This is AMAZING. I can't even tell you how incredible this is. I have been waiting for a glitter like this forever, it seems. It is a super colorful, bright, bold, vibrant, saturated PURPLE!!! glitter. It's a little more sheer than the others so I did three coats here, but it is well worth it. This could be my favorite glitter of all time. I can't even tell you how excited I am that this polish exists."

The Sparkles Collection is available now at www.bynubar.com for $49.95, or the colors retail for $7.49 each.

nubar's Prism Collection

nubar's Prism Collection is released today, and has received a warm reception in reviews.

Kelly of Vampy Varnish says, "Nubar’s formula is most excellent these are all just top notch, I had no issues whatsoever. They are very holographic also, not just a little bit," and Anne at Beauty Xpose notes that, "All of the nail polishes glide on evenly without chunky glitter poking through the top as you might expect; the glitter lies flat, resulting in a smooth, glass-like finish." Scrangie's enthusiasm for the collection was clear when she said, "I was way too excited to wait for appropriate lighting for swatches, so I snapped a few pics in the dark of the Nubar Prism samples that just arrived."

Various reviewers have skillfully photographed the Prisms, previewing the eight holographic shades.

Beauty Judy shows Jewel and says, "The brown goes so well with the colors of the rainbow. I blurred this pic a bit so you could see those glitters!"

Getcha Nails Did shows Spark and tells her readers, "I'm loving this sable colored holo shimmer. Even though I would consider this a "mature" color I really, really liked it on. I think this would be a great polish for those of you with job's that restrict your nail polish colors."

Scrangie's Modern Matte Collection Review

Scrangie had the opportunity to review nubar's Modern Matte Collection this week, and she was exuberant about them.

In general, she says that, "I'm not really one to care about trends, but wow, the matte trend is huge this year," and that she rates nubar's matte formula superior to all others. She tells her readers, "The formula on these is great. Smooth, even-textured, easy to control, not too thick. I didn't have a single problem with the formula. These mattes are much more forgiving than the other mattes released so far this year. The reason for this is that they don't dry as fast. With other mattes, they start to dry as you are applying them. These stay wet during application which allows room for error. The drying time is still super fast, totally dry within about five minutes, but you have a little more time to work with them, which is to your advantage."

Scrangie has excellent photographs of all four shades. Of Avant-Garde, she says, "Unique russet is the manufacturer's description and I'd say it fits this shade quite well. It's a reddish, brownish, coppery type of color that just screams fall."

"Prevail. A spectacular purple. This is a really gorgeous shade. It's a deep, dark brownish purple. Purple with touches of gold. Very dramatic."

Like The Nailphile, Scrangie topped them with Diamont Seal & Shine Quick Dry Top Coat, asking her readers, "Don't these look fantastic with a glossy topcoat?" Her pictures make her point very well, as she shows all four Modern Mattes glossy.

Scrangie's Glossy Prevail

One of the unique advantages to nubar's Modern Mattes over other matte nail polishes is that they can be used with a base and top coat, while others indicate that a base and top coat should not be used. Scrangie went even further with exploring different looks for the Modern Mattes, and suggests, "If you're not crazy about mattes but still like the color, you have options! Take these for example. They dry matte, but if you want glossy, just add a topcoat like Nubar Diamont Shine. If you change your mind and want to go back to matte, just add a coat of Nubar V For Men. Or you can go partially matte, partially glossy by doing a french tip with either matte or shiny topcoat, or using matte or shiny topcoat to Konad a design on top."

Scrangie Reviews Going Green

Scrangie recently reviewed nubar's limited edition Going Green Collection, which is now available online.

Of the collection as a whole, she said, "A collection of greens, with a holo AND a duochrome?! Somebody pinch me! I must be dreaming! Wait, if this really is a dream, don't wake me up!" She went on to tell her readers that,"The formula on these is *perfect*. Nubar has mastered the three-free formula. All the polishes are opaque in two coats, and they're so pigmented that they're almost totally opaque in one coat."

Highlights of her review are her appreciation of Greener: "Greener. Dark green shimmer. HO-LY COW. Can you believe this?? This is... quite possibly... my favorite green shimmer ever. It's so deep and dark and velvety looking. And it's so amazingly shimmery without being glittery that it has tons of depth. You might want to view the full size of the indoor/shade picture because it picked up the shimmer really well. This shade is unbelievable. Backup worthy. Multiple backup worthy, even."

Of Reclaim, she said, "Reclaim. Green holographic. Green holo!! I can barely believe my eyes. This collection is not holding back, is it? Green holo is something that's been missing from the world of polish. We have pastel green holo, but not a 'real', darker, pronounced, grassy green holo. The holo in this is ... smooth and linear. Fabulous."

Wildlife impressed her as well, "This is a crazy strong duochrome, which I love. You don't really have to go into different lighting or hold your nails at extreme angles to see the duochrome effect of this. It's always flashing both colors. "

Scrangie Reviews nubar's Parisian Collection

Today Scrangie reviewed nubar's Parisian Collection, telling her readers,"The formula on these was very good. Smooth and thin, non-streaky and quick drying. I had no issues applying them... I normally have a problem with sheers and milky pinks being extremely streaky, but these didn't have that problem. Very cool." Her favorite of the collection is Eiffel Tower Sparkle, of which she says, "It's so pretty and sparkly."

Scrangie Spices Things Up with nubar

Scrangie recently needed a little something to shake things up and looked to nubar for the perfect nail polish, Disco Blue.

Scrangie in Disco Blue

She says, "Nubar's glitters are strangely smooth," and that, "Nubar is known for their out-of-this-world unique and breathtakingly beautiful duochrome shades like Peacock Feathers and Purple Beach, but they also have some of the best glitters on the market. They're all intensely sparkly to the point of being dangerous in their ability to distract. If you walk outside wearing one of Nubar's glitters on your nails, I guarantee that you will be staring at your hands more than is probably safe."

Her full review can be found here, and nubar's Glitters can be found at bynubar.com.
