Siobhan at The Nailphile previewed nubar's Royal Gems Collection for her readers this week, and she was very enthusiatic about the collection. She says, "I love these. I'm really enjoying Nubar's releases in that they're good as collections, great individual colors, and completely what they are. You want gemstone colors? No wussy washed-out ones here. They are what they are. I like that!"

nubar Modern Mattes at Getcha Nails Did

Brooke at Getcha Nails Did reviewed nubar's Modern Matte Collection with some of the most detailed pictures of them we've seen, and she was impressed. Brooke said, "These all applied like butter and did dry quickly, but not so quickly that I felt rushed while applying." Here are some highlights of her photos.

Brooke in Contempo

Brooke in Vital

Of matte nail polish in general, Brooke tells us, "I myself, was not real keen on the mattes...I must say - these mattes have really grown on me. I do think part of it is though, the great colors that nubar picked." Of the collection, she says, "Everything about these say FALL to me," and goes on to suggest to her readers, "If you are on the fence about mattes, I would definitely suggest trying out nubar's Modern Matte Collection."

WhoWhatWear: Scarlett Johansson & nubar Green Tea

When coming up with an ideal style for Scarlett Johansson, the editors of WhoWhatWear chose nubar's Green Tea as a perfect compliment to the look they'd create. In addition to being the perfect shade, nubar's vegan and cruelty free formula seems appropriate for Ms. Johansson.

"Though this shade might not seem like an obvious choice, we think it works for a number of reasons. First of all, green polish had serious presence on the fall runways (jade at Chanel, forest at Vena Cava). Secondly, we imagine that Johansson would approve of nubar's cruelty-free vegan formulas. Finally, the quirky color is just the sort of slightly subversive subtle touch we've come to expect from the actress."

Sminkan Loves nubar's Going Green

Sminkan, Sweden's premier beauty blogger, recently received and began to review nubar's Going Green Collection. Like her U.S. counterparts, she is thrilled with the shades, calling them the ultimate nail polish collection.

She is especially fond of Conserve,

Sminkan in Conserve

and she compared Forest to a polish costing more than twice nubar's $7.49, and Forest came out on top.

Scrangie's Modern Matte Collection Review

Scrangie had the opportunity to review nubar's Modern Matte Collection this week, and she was exuberant about them.

In general, she says that, "I'm not really one to care about trends, but wow, the matte trend is huge this year," and that she rates nubar's matte formula superior to all others. She tells her readers, "The formula on these is great. Smooth, even-textured, easy to control, not too thick. I didn't have a single problem with the formula. These mattes are much more forgiving than the other mattes released so far this year. The reason for this is that they don't dry as fast. With other mattes, they start to dry as you are applying them. These stay wet during application which allows room for error. The drying time is still super fast, totally dry within about five minutes, but you have a little more time to work with them, which is to your advantage."

Scrangie has excellent photographs of all four shades. Of Avant-Garde, she says, "Unique russet is the manufacturer's description and I'd say it fits this shade quite well. It's a reddish, brownish, coppery type of color that just screams fall."

Scrangie's Matte Avant-Garde

"Prevail. A spectacular purple. This is a really gorgeous shade. It's a deep, dark brownish purple. Purple with touches of gold. Very dramatic."

Scrangie's Matte Prevail

Like The Nailphile, Scrangie topped them with Diamont Seal & Shine Quick Dry Top Coat, asking her readers, "Don't these look fantastic with a glossy topcoat?" Her pictures make her point very well, as she shows all four Modern Mattes glossy.

Scrangie's Glossy Avant-Garde

Scrangie's Glossy Prevail

One of the unique advantages to nubar's Modern Mattes over other matte nail polishes is that they can be used with a base and top coat, while others indicate that a base and top coat should not be used. Scrangie went even further with exploring different looks for the Modern Mattes, and suggests, "If you're not crazy about mattes but still like the color, you have options! Take these for example. They dry matte, but if you want glossy, just add a topcoat like Nubar Diamont Shine. If you change your mind and want to go back to matte, just add a coat of Nubar V For Men. Or you can go partially matte, partially glossy by doing a french tip with either matte or shiny topcoat, or using matte or shiny topcoat to Konad a design on top."

The Nailphile's Previews nubar's Modern Matte Collection

Siobhan at The Nailphile recently previewed nubar's Modern Matte Collection, which will be released in mid July. She was very impressed with this collection of four unique matte shades, saying, "There are three notable things about them: (i) they can be used with a base and top coat, so no nail staining (and we'll get to the top coat part...); (ii) they are incredibly pigmented, being opaque in one coat (I did two to be consistent with other Nubar swatches); (iii) they're crazy quick-dry." She went on to photograph each of the nail lacquers both with and without Diamont Seal & Shine Top Coat.

Highlights of her photos include her picture of Contempo,

Scrangie Reviews Going Green

Scrangie recently reviewed nubar's limited edition Going Green Collection, which is now available online.

Of the collection as a whole, she said, "A collection of greens, with a holo AND a duochrome?! Somebody pinch me! I must be dreaming! Wait, if this really is a dream, don't wake me up!" She went on to tell her readers that,"The formula on these is *perfect*. Nubar has mastered the three-free formula. All the polishes are opaque in two coats, and they're so pigmented that they're almost totally opaque in one coat."

Highlights of her review are her appreciation of Greener: "Greener. Dark green shimmer. HO-LY COW. Can you believe this?? This is... quite possibly... my favorite green shimmer ever. It's so deep and dark and velvety looking. And it's so amazingly shimmery without being glittery that it has tons of depth. You might want to view the full size of the indoor/shade picture because it picked up the shimmer really well. This shade is unbelievable. Backup worthy. Multiple backup worthy, even."

Scrangie in Greener

Of Reclaim, she said, "Reclaim. Green holographic. Green holo!! I can barely believe my eyes. This collection is not holding back, is it? Green holo is something that's been missing from the world of polish. We have pastel green holo, but not a 'real', darker, pronounced, grassy green holo. The holo in this is ... smooth and linear. Fabulous."

Scrangie in Reclaim

Wildlife impressed her as well, "This is a crazy strong duochrome, which I love. You don't really have to go into different lighting or hold your nails at extreme angles to see the duochrome effect of this. It's always flashing both colors. "

All Lacquered Up Reviews Going Green

Michelle at AllLacqueredUp had the opportunity to preview nubar's Going Green collection yesterday, and we were thrilled to find that she loves this collection.

Describing the collection as a whole she said,"It's like a dream come true... In regards to the formula the bottom line is this; smooth, thin, well pigmented, two coat coverage, fast drying. In other words, pretty damn perfect. Each color glided on with ease." Two of her particular favorites are Greener and Reclaim.

Of Greener Michelle says,"I don't know that I've seen a more gorgeous polish in my life than Greener and I'm not exaggerating. It's heart stopping stunning and as incredible as it looks in pictures, it's even more jaw-dropping in person. A true emerald shimmer, this exemplifies jewel tone and I own NOTHING like it."

Her impression of Reclaim was equally strong, and Michelle tells her readers, "I've been waiting for a great green holo polish... This one is a fabulous springy, grassy hue packed with fine holographic glitter. I wish it had been sunny so I could show its full holographic power."

Scrangie Reviews nubar's Parisian Collection

Today Scrangie reviewed nubar's Parisian Collection, telling her readers,"The formula on these was very good. Smooth and thin, non-streaky and quick drying. I had no issues applying them... I normally have a problem with sheers and milky pinks being extremely streaky, but these didn't have that problem. Very cool." Her favorite of the collection is Eiffel Tower Sparkle, of which she says, "It's so pretty and sparkly."

California Dreamin' Collection Reviewed

We found that Siobhan at The Nailphile recently reviewed nubar's California Dreamin' Collection, calling it, "one of the most overlooked collections in the history of nail polish," and going on to say that she'd been reluctant to try them because, "the colors are shimmers, and usually orange, yellow, and green shimmers take eight zillion coats to not be opaque, but I found that's completely not the case here."

Highlights of her photographs of the collection include what Siobhan calls, "my beloved pink to end all pinks, Hollywood Pink," and Reef Green, which she tells her readers,"is a stunner."

Scrangie Spices Things Up with nubar

Scrangie recently needed a little something to shake things up and looked to nubar for the perfect nail polish, Disco Blue.

Scrangie in Disco Blue

She says, "Nubar's glitters are strangely smooth," and that, "Nubar is known for their out-of-this-world unique and breathtakingly beautiful duochrome shades like Peacock Feathers and Purple Beach, but they also have some of the best glitters on the market. They're all intensely sparkly to the point of being dangerous in their ability to distract. If you walk outside wearing one of Nubar's glitters on your nails, I guarantee that you will be staring at your hands more than is probably safe."

We discovered that Michelle of A Stroke of Color is one of the many who are impressed with nubar's Lemon Sorbet. She says, "it is a huge favourite of mine like all of the other colors from that collection... As her readers know, Michelle often uses a nail art stamper. To complete this manicure, she used our Lavender with her stamper.

The Nailphile Gets Creative with Pasadena Purple and Purple Fire

We found Siobhan at The Nailphile wearing nubar, and again we exceeded her expectations. Yesterday she wore Pasadena Purple and found that, "I saw images from the movie with it and bottle pictures of it, even other blogs' pictures, of it. I tell you: pictures don't do this one justice. Mine don't either. This is an instant Top 20 polish for me... It's so rich and pretty and glowy!" That is high praise coming from someone with so many polishes to choose from as The Nailphile.

Siobhan was thrilled with Pasadena Purple, and she was also excited to have recently received some of our Glitters. She said, "...more pretties came with it that I couldn't wait to dig into. I have glitters! I added two coats of Nubar Purple Fire to this one."

Here are her photographs of the polishes.

The Polish Addict Loves nubar Purple Beach

Steph at The Polish Addict recently had a chance to wear our Purple Beach, and she discovered what we've known for a long time: nubar's duochromes are a class apart from all other duochromes. Steph says, "My big beef with duo-chromes is that they generally look ridiculously amazing in the bottle but are much, much less impressive once applied on the nail. Purple Beach is what a duo-chrome should be when applied. "

Steph goes on to tell her readers of Purple Beach, "It’s a gorgeous high intensity duo-chrome that transforms from purple to ash to green. The duo-chrome is very easily seen all the time, not just in special lighting while your fingers are twister tilted in strange directions. It’s perfect in two coats and the application was not fussy." We received her highest praise when she said, "I rarely say this, but Purple Beach is a *must* own color. It’s the type of polish that causes constant distraction and careless driving. Colors like this keep my passion for polish alive." We at nubar are happy to keep The Polish Addict's passion alive!

The Nailphile Raves About Diamont Seal & Shine Quick Dry Top Coat

Today we found Siobhan at The Nailphile sharing her excitement about nubar's Diamont Seal & Shine Quick Dry Top Coat while she wore our Ruby Velvet after searching for the perfect red.

She begins by declaring herself a convert to Diamont Seal & Shine, saying, "I mentioned yesterday that I tried Nubar's Diamont Seal & Shine for the first time, was impressed, but not convinced. Today I'm convinced." Siobhan goes on to tell her readers that "the two to three minutes Nubar Diamont took [to completely dry three coats of polish] just blew me away," and that Diamont Seal & Shine is now her favorite top coat. She noticed how special Diamont Seal & Shine is because, "Usually, when I post right after applying a color, my nails are still drying while I type the post. Today, my nails were literally dry by the time I was uploading pictures from my camera to the computer... I don't recall that they have ever been that dry that fast before."

Here are her photographs of Ruby Velvet with Diamont Seal & Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.
